Holdt drifted into the penalty area and was slide tackled by KDFF captain Carly Wickenheiser and the ball went out for a corner.
– So I’m not a judge, but I’ve never seen such a clear punishment, she takes the whole foot. I told the judge that she has to watch it afterwards and then she will apologize to me, says Olivia Holdt to Viaplay.
There were no major protests against the referee in connection with the incident.
A couple of minutes later, Holdt passed the ball to Momoko Tanikawa, who broke the deadlock for Rosengård for 1-0. Rosengård finally received a dividend and that was the end of the barrel.
Three goals in 4.5 minutes
A couple of minutes later, Holdt came forward powerfully and headed in 2-0. Before the half was over, Rosengård had also made it 3-0 when the Finnish Ria Öling took her in the penalty area, turned left and found the gap in the left corner of the goal.
The three goals were scored in 4.34.
– We were overrun in the first half, then I think we make an attempt in the second half and create a lot of scoring chances, summarizes KDFF’s Alice Nilsson.
Rosengård, after a depressing last year’s season that ended with a seventh-place finish, has started this year’s season off to a flying start with two stable victories and an offensive game where they create lots of scoring chances. When the team was under pressure, goalkeeper Eartha Cumings stepped up, not least in extra time where she reflexively saved a header on the goal line.
– With the team we have, we have to focus on ourselves and play football like we do today, says Olivia Holdt.
