Football: Rosengård one step closer to the SM gold – after the Japanese super talent’s success

Rosengård’s SM gold had been secured by victory at the same time as top competitors Häcken and Hammarby lost points. With Häcken overrunning Växjö (4-0) earlier in the evening, the gold celebration was postponed.

However, that didn’t seem to bother the superb tablet and Momoko Tanikawa. The Japanese giant took advantage of a fortuitous ball in the penalty area and pushed the lead onto the crossbar in the 29th minute. It was the Bayern Munich loanee’s 13th goal of the season.

“Such a crap victory”

Piteå pushed for an equalizer in the second half, but Rosengård and goalkeeper Eartha Cumings held off and picked up three new points.

– After such a silly victory, you are very, very satisfied. In the second half, we didn’t play good football, but we have a hell of a winner’s skull and fight until the end. They are really ugly but we stand up, says Olivia Schough in Viaplay’s broadcast after the match.

The Skåne team can now secure the SM gold on Friday at home against Kristianstad.
