Football: Portugal through to the European Championship quarter-finals after penalty drama against Slovenia

Portugal pushed Slovenia down for basically the whole match, but the Slovenians stood up well.

Cristiano Ronaldo continued to chase his first goal of the tournament, but either the free kicks were too poorly taken or Jan Oblak was rock solid between the posts.

    It went to penalties – and Ronaldo scored his penalty there.

    Diogo Costa put in an incredible goalkeeping effort to save all three of Slovenia’s penalties and Portugal progressed to the quarter-finals having saved all of theirs. In the quarter-finals they face France.
