Gais came to the newcomer game against Västerås with three wins in the last four games. Västerås, in turn, had reversed numbers, one win in their last four played.
The match at Gamla Ullevi in Gothenburg was only four minutes young when Jonas Lindberg gave the green and black stripes the lead.
Cycled in 2-0
But the big save of the half would come much later.
In the 41st minute of the match, Gais launched a beautiful attack where a heel pass from William Milovanovic found August Wängberg in the lower part of the penalty area.
The fullback then in turn lifted the ball into the penalty area where Alexander Ahl Holmström was. He met the ball and cycling in the air he made it 2-0 (see it in the player above)
“It’s okay”
The striker’s fourth Allsvenskan goal of the season.
– It’s okay. It’s a good post by “Agge” (August Wängberg) too, who knows that I’m usually there. It could have sat closer to the cross, but it’s okay, said Ahl Holmström happily in Discovery’s broadcast during the break.

The second half ended goalless and Gais won 2-0. With the victory, they are now second in the Allsvenskan table, three points behind Malmö.
