Football: Nannskog: “Doesn’t feel like the relationship is as it should be”

– Hugo Larsson is a player I have a lot of faith in. A fine central midfielder who is young. I thought he would relatively quickly become a starting player for this national team, he probably will be. This has not been a start that was expected, says the SVT Sports expert.

Jon Dahl Tomasson said after the win against Azerbaijan that Larsson needs to fit more vertically. The 20-year-old midfielder did not appreciate that the national team captain told it at the press conference, but thought the discussion should stay internal.

Men’s national football team

  • Kristoffer Olsson approaches individual training – says: “Can go in and play ten minutes”

  • Hugo Larsson is leaving the collection – after feeling slight damage

  • “I had bet on him”

    – I have not experienced him as playing extremely sideways. Feedback, which is great so you know what to improve on, should perhaps come within the team. Then you have to get the chance to show it in matches.

How does this affect his future in the national team?

    – I think the best thing is for them to speak out for real. It feels like the relationship between them is not what it should be between a player and coach. It feels like a good conversation is needed for future collaborations.

How do you rate Hugo Larsson in the national team?

    – For me, he is a player that I had bet on. Then you have to prove it when you’re out on the pitch. He is doing great in Germany and could do well in the national team.

After yesterday’s interview with the media, the news came today that Hugo Larsson has left the national team collection. According to the association, it is about a damage assessment.

    – It is difficult to know whether it is a knowledge of damage or not, it will only be speculation, says Nannskog.

Sweden plays its second group stage match in the C division of the Nations League tonight against Estonia at the National Arena. Kick-off at 20.45.
