Maximilian Ibrahimovic was substituted for the second half when Sweden defeated Japan 1-0 in a training match in Spain yesterday.
But that the 18-year-old, who is the son of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, would follow in his father’s footsteps was not at all obvious.
“The worst ever”
When he met SVT Sport and some other Swedish media the day after his debut, he told us that he only started playing when he was nine years old, and actually hated football at the beginning.
– I thought it was the worst thing there was, but when I turned eleven or twelve I started to really like playing it, he says, and explains that part of the dislike had to do with the constant comparisons with his father.
