Football: Malmö FF’s statement about the pitch after the pitch storm: “Will require some work”

Before the match against IFK Göteborg, where the gold was secured, MFF issued a call to the supporters not to storm the lawn.

Despite that, the fans rushed out at the final whistle.

– The lawn is fine. After all, we went out before the match saying that we absolutely do not want any plan storming, it may not have been very popular, but it had an effect. Many came out, but many also stayed in the stands. The plan has managed decently, says Magnus Olsson, plan manager, to SVT Sport.

– We hope to get it in condition for the next match, I’m not terribly worried. It will take some work. Lots of love and we’re keeping our fingers crossed that the weather is with us.

Hopeful before the European Games

Malmö FF’s journey in the Europa League continues and Uefa, which owns the tournament, places high demands on the carpet to be in good condition.

– But we have almost a month until then.

Will there be sleepless nights now for you who drive this?

– That’s always the case when you are the pitch manager at Malmö FF and want the pitch in the best condition, he says with a laugh and explains that he is hopeful of getting the pitch fit for the European matches.

MFF hosts Galatasary on December 12.
