On 19 November last year, Janne Andersson made his last international match as head coach of the Swedish national team.
After his time in Blågult, there have been rumors of new assignments for the 61-year-old. Among other things, information from The Guardian and Score Nigeria has claimed that Andersson is relevant for Nigeria’s national team.
Later he also confirmed for The Express that he “has had a dialogue” with the Nigeria Football Federation.
Now, however, it is clear that the large African nation is investing in another candidate. The association announced on Tuesday morning that it will instead be German coach Bruno Labbadia who will take over the national team.
The 58-year-old has previously led clubs such as Bayer Leverkusen, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Wolfsburg and Hertha Berlin.
SVT Sport is looking for Janne Andersson for a comment.
