Football: IFK Gothenburg took a long-awaited victory in the eleventh hour: “We believed in it”

– It is fantastic and we have fought hard for this. We have been close so many times but today it worked out and we took three points and I think we deserve it, we believed in it, says Laurs Skjellerup to SVT Sport.

The fourth referee signaled eleven minutes of extra time when Blåvitt secured the long-awaited and oh-so-important victory that was not blown until the 15th minute of extra time.

After a 45-minute break after shots, bang shots and flares at the beginning of the second half, Gothenburg scored 2-0 after a pattern attack. Paulos Abraham heeled the ball forward to Anders Trondsen, who played it in to Laurs Skjellerup, who put an outside side and saw the ball go into the goal.

Schytt’s “Heja Blåvitt” roared out for the second time at a packed Gamla Ullevi. The last time Blåvitt scored at least two goals in a home game was against BP at the end of July (loss 3-4). The match did not end until 22:04.

Took the lead in the first half

At the end of the first half, Gothenburg took the lead. Icelander Kolbeinn Thordarsson took advantage of the fact that the ball bounced right and splashed 1-0 into the roof of the net.

The last victory before tonight for IFK Gothenburg was when they beat Hammarby in Stockholm with 1-0 on July 15.

– I don’t think we will get up to par. We play well in certain periods but get punished quite easily, but the sun will rise tomorrow too, says Gais Alexander Ahl Holmström, whose team’s streak of six straight games without a loss broke.
