In SVT’s new series “The EC journey with Johan Kücükaslan” we get to meet footballers’ number one hairdresser – Sheldon Edwards. In a typical week, Edwards is away five or six days cutting players across Europe.
– The players trust me and fly me to where they are, he says.

What makes you unique, why are they calling you?
– I have an ability to read the room. I can entertain without even knowing the player’s language. I have a responsibility that the player feels safe and confident with his appearance. Then of course I am very good at my job.
What do you say to critics who think players should focus more on football?
– These are young people who have a life outside of football. They want to look good and want to enjoy life. They play in front of millions of people. Of course they want to look good.
