Football: Hammarby with a big victory in the summit meeting with Elfsborg

Nahir Besara was first out, then Viktor Djukanovic and Jusef Erabi. Hammarby got exactly the goal-wise distribution that coach Kim Hellberg could have wanted from his offensive plays when Elfsborg visited.

But it took some time before the goals came. At half-time it was 0-0 on the scoreboard, but well after the break, Besara offered a beautiful finish that also made it loose for the green and white home team. Djukanovic was responsible for the assist.

– It’s my first assist in my career so I’m so happy about it, he says to SVT Sport.

Invitation behind 3-0

Most sour for Elfsborg was perhaps Erabi’s goal, which came after a solid challenge from Andri Baldursson. That meant 3-0 and the game was over.

– There were three very important points. In the first half we were not good, but then we showed how Hammarby should play and scored three goals, says Djukanovic.

But Michael Baidoo also had time to leave his mark on the match in the 81st minute, when he put his knee up against Erabi’s face. It earned him his second yellow card in just a few minutes and the final minutes were played with only 10 yellows on the field.

The victory is Hammarby’s second in three games, while Elfsborg have to count their first loss and remain on four points.
