It was an entertaining match to say the least at the Friends arena.
The home team started frantically and debutant Lamine Fanne had an early header over the crossbar.
But it was IFK Göteborg who took the lead in the match. Former AIK player Paulos Abraham played forward to Oscar Pettersson, who rolled in 1–0.
The match opened up and the away team had several good counterattacking opportunities, but AIK also had reason to celebrate in the first half.
Double class goals
After a cross from the right wing, the ball finally ended up with Omar Faraj, who coolly slotted in to make it 1-1.
– Great to be back on the pitch and contribute. The best there is, says Faraj, who has been sidelined with injury problems in recent weeks.
“Blåvitt” regained the lead early in the second half. Substitute Oscar Wendt had a celebration hit, which meant 2–1 to the away team.
AIK’s Anton Salétros didn’t want to be worse and the midfielder – who was recently selected for the national team – pulled away with a delicious volley.
Own goal by Svensson: “Knew immediately”
The home team was then able to complete the turnaround after a deadly own goal. Bersant Celina chipped the ball into the penalty area and Gustav Svensson headed in 3–2 in his own box.
– I immediately felt when I got my forehead on it that it was going towards the goal and I saw that Elis (Bishesari, goalkeeper) was on his way to the goal, says Svensson.
Late in stoppage time, Dino Besirovic and Ioannis Pittas were able to score a goal each, which resulted in a 5–2 victory for AIK.
– Very nice. It is good for the team’s self-confidence that several people find the net, says Omar Faraj.
The result means that AIK is seventh, while IFK Göteborg is in 13th place in the Allsvenskan.
– It is incredibly heavy. We didn’t quite get it right from start to finish, even though we score 1–0 and 2–1, says Gustav Svensson.
