With Zecira Musovic away from the European Cup final in July due to pregnancy, the door has been opened at the gable for Jennifer Falk to step forward as Sweden’s first choice between the posts.
The Chelsea goalkeeper Musovic has during the past year been the one who has usually gained confidence, but now it is Häckens Jennifer Falk who has the chance to make the goalkeeper position his own.
But the clouds of worry gathered during the 2-1 victory against Denmark, where Falk seemed to play wrapped and with clear hip.
– There was nothing that came suddenly, but it rose during the match. I got help with the kickers, but the kicks still worked well, says Falk.
Hoping to stand next match
Despite the pain, she remained between the posts for 90 minutes, but the question many people ask is whether she will be ready when Sweden will play the next match in the Nations League on Tuesday next week, away against Wales.
– I think I will be able to stand the next match, she says, but adds that she will evaluate the injury together with the medical team.
She continues:
– It feels okay, I think. I have felt tired in the hip, and the quality of the kick -offs has not been the best. That’s why I had to ask for help with them, says Sweden’s goalkeeper after the match.
