Reigning champions Manchester City have won the first three matches in the Premier League as planned.
On Saturday night, the third victory came when West Ham were defeated 3–1 away from home.
As early as the tenth minute, attacking star Erling Haaland scored the lead goal in the match. The home side certainly equalized after an own goal by Ruben Dias, but City bounced back quickly from the late goal.
Hattrick two games in a row
Haaland scored 2-1 into the net after 30 minutes played, and with less than ten minutes remaining, the Norwegian was free to score after a fine play by Matheus Nunes.
The 24-year-old striker made no mistake in front of goal and he coolly chipped in 3-1 behind Lukasz Fabianski.
Hattrick in two straight games for Haaland, who scored three goals in the 4-1 victory against Ipswich last weekend.
Arsenal dropped points
Earlier in the day, one of City’s major title rivals, Arsenal, dropped points at home to Brighton.
After a lead goal from Kai Havertz, the London team had midfielder Declan Rice sent off. It was convenient for Brighton to take advantage and the away team’s Joao Pedro saved points with his 1-1 goal.
Yasin Ayari, just selected in the Swedish national team squad, came on in the 17th minute.
