Football: Breakthrough in the police investigation of the Damallsvenska threats – the police have obtained IP addresses

During the season there have been reports of threats against a player in FC Rosengård.

Last week, the development gained new momentum, when it was revealed that the threats are now directed at the entire Ladies’ League, whereupon the security around the Ladies’ League matches has been strengthened.

– It’s bizarre. It is very strange that it can happen at all, and we never even thought of this possibility, that it would interfere with the sports that we hold, says the general secretary of the interest organization Elitfotoll Dam Tomas Hoszek to SVT Sport.

Death threats

The threats against the Rosengård player have been received since May, and the club then filed a police report. SVT Sport has taken note of a number of the threats, and can state that they are direct death threats.

SVT Sport can now report that a breakthrough has been reached in the investigation, as they have obtained IP addresses from the platforms on which the threats have been published.

Now one important thing remains: Being able to connect the accounts to one or more people.

– We are waiting for a response from external parties. Everything is on the line, but it is not in my power to judge how and when answers might come, says police officer Joakim Karlsson, who is investigating the threats against the Rosengård player.
