Football: BP’s top scorer Nikola Vasic pushed Västerås closer to the super league: “Worked up a mountain”

At the beginning of the second half, Alexander Abrahamsson pulled the ball away from just outside his own penalty area.

Nikola Vasic ran deep and made sure to get control of the ball and coolly chip in 1-0 and move up into shared scoring league lead with Malmö FF’s Isaac Kiese Thelin with 15 hits.

A quarter of an hour from the end, Alexander Jensen filled up and directly shot 2-0 on a rolling ball that changed direction and it looked settled at Grimsta IP.

– It was important that we scored the second goal. It was a bit nervous and they put pressure on us, big credit to them that they just keep going, says Alexander Jensen to Max.

“Need four more points”

Last year, BP managed 33 points. Now you have 30.

– We need four more points to get by, but we will try to win as many games as possible, Jensen thinks.

However, Viktor Granath gave VSK hope by reducing it to 2-1 a couple of minutes after BP’s 2-0 when he headed in Elyas Bouzaiene’s forward header, a neat collaboration. There was great cheering among the traveling green and white supporters who sang for their team in the return to the Allsvenskan.

– They get a far too cheap goal when they can hit behind from a centre-back and then they get the second. We try, but it’s not enough – as it has been throughout the season, sums up Västerås’ Simon Johansson.
