Already in the second minute, Ioannis Pittas jumped high on a free kick and broke the deadlock.
AIK then extended it to 2–0 via Dino Besirovic, who celebrated by getting a cramp.
In the 76th minute, AIK replaced Ahmed Faqa in an attempt to close the match. However, that was not the case when Faqa drew a penalty minutes later. Simon Hedlund scored the penalty and it was a really exciting final stage in the match.
Elfsborg chased the equaliser, but they never got past AIK who won 2–1. The victory meant that they tightened their grip on the European place before Djurgården’s match tomorrow.
