Football: After the pokes – Olivia Schough back in the national team: “Wonderful”

Olivia Schough has been a given player in Peter Gerhardsson’s national team for many years. But after the WC bronze last summer, the 32-year-old was left out of the team during the Nations League gatherings.

Double fateful matches against Bosnia and Herzegovina now await and when Gerhardsson presented the squad last week, Schough’s name was among those selected.

– Absolutely wonderful. A little strange feeling to be outside and also strange to be back. But now everything feels as usual, she says.

“Don’t agree on everything”

Schough says that she and the union captain have discussed with each other.

– We’ve been talking. We don’t agree on everything, but we have talked and have a good relationship.

Despite great disappointment over the pokes, Schough has never had any thoughts of ending his national team career.

– I have always felt that if Peter wants to be with me again, I am ready.

Sweden meets Bosnia and Herzegovina in a double match, which will decide whether play will continue in the a-division or if Blågult will be moved down a notch. The first match between the teams is played on Friday and the return match on Wednesday in Stockholm.
