Colombia captain James Rodríguez, former Real Madrid star, left Rayo Vallecano (Spain) to sign for club Leon, Mexico, the clubs announced on Monday January 14. The former attacking midfielder for Real, Monaco and Bayern Munich joined Rayo for free at the start of the season, but he only made six appearances in the league with the Madrid club, without scoring a goal. The Leon club revealed the transfer in a video where we see Rodriguez playing a gladiator adored by a delirious crowd. Rodriguez, 33, was voted best player at last year’s Copa América. In 2014, he was top scorer at the World Cup. He joins a club that has won the Mexican title eight times and will compete in the FIFA Club World Cup this summer. Leon is in the group of Chelsea, Flamengo and Esperance de Tunis.
