Food shortage at Willys and Hemköp: “We regret”

Food shortage at Willys and Hemkop We regret

In 2023, the purchasing and logistics company Dagab, which is part of the Axfood group, opened a brand new logistics center in Bålsta in Uppsala county. Since then, repeated delivery problems have resulted in companies and stores turning to other suppliers for certain periods to get goods in to be able to sell.

Delivery problems to Willys and Hemköp

Now new delivery problems have emerged, resulting in two food chains being significantly affected when the availability of a certain type of food is limited or not delivered at all.

The site Grocery news reports that several Hemköp and Willys stores have received less and less frozen goods delivered in a couple of weeks.

“Although there have been frozen volumes, it has not been to the desired extent, which we regret, and are working to get it right as soon as possible and catch up,” writes Marie Svatoncommunications manager at Dagab, in an email to Dagligvarunytt.

However, deliveries of dry and chilled goods shall not be affected by the delivery confusion surrounding frozen goods.

According to Willy’s communications manager Johanna Eurén an impact is expected on the amount of supply in several stores in the future.

“Deliveries come out and are replenished over time. We are working together and in good spirit to catch up, but expect that there will be some residual impact during the week”.
