A new regulation was made regarding Chinese origin automobile imports. It was announced that Chinese origin automobile imports benefiting from customs exemption within the scope of investment incentive certificate will be exempt from additional financial liability.
Shortly after this announcement, it was said that BYD would invest $1 billion in Turkey. Now, officials from another Chinese electric car manufacturer, Skywell, have come to visit Turkey.

Officials from Skyworth, the manufacturer of Skywell, came together in Ankara to expand their existing strategic and technological partnerships on global platforms.
According to the statement made by the company, Skywell, one of the Chinese electric car manufacturers, founding chairman and Skyworth Digital and Skywell Europe owner and founder Stephen Wong, Skywell co-founder and CEO Wu Longba and Skywell Turkey and Skywell Europe Regional Director Chen Quanrong visited Turkey to discuss Skywell’s new investments in Turkey and new models to be launched in the upcoming period, and to establish contacts with the aim of expanding their current strategic and technological partnership with their Turkish distributor Ulu Motor on global platforms.
Ulu Motor and Ulubaşlar Group founding president Nuri Ulubaş, Ulu Motor Board Chairman Halil Ziya Ulubaş, Skywell Europe & UK CEO Mahmut Ulubaş and host Skywell Ankara Authorized Dealer Board Chairman Cankay Çetinkaya attended the meetings held in Ankara.
Cankay Otomotiv, which is the host and also one of Skywell’s dealers in Turkey, was awarded the Skywell Official Plaque. The plaque was presented to Cankay Otomotiv Chairman of the Board of Directors Cankay Çetinkaya by Skywell’s founding president and Skyworth Digital and Skywell Europe owner and founder Stephen Wong.
The delegation then held talks at the Chinese Consulate in Ankara and the Türkiye-China Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum.
Skywell officials, who are continuing their work on establishing a vehicle production line in Turkey, bringing the spare parts supply system to Turkey and including the production of some parts here among their plans, stated that they aim to develop Turkey’s new energy vehicle industry technology and capacity.
