Indeed, Android synchronizes your Google account used on your smartphone very regularly by default. An operation which allows you to find your emails in Gmail, your calendars but also your contacts on any device connected to your account (smartphone, computer, tablet, etc.). However, this synchronization also takes into account all your actions. Also, if you delete an item from your mobile, it will be deleted in the same way on all your other devices. But Google has provided a little safety net. This is because the contacts you delete are not immediately deleted from the company’s servers. You have thirty days to get your hands on it. Phew!
The procedure for recovering a deleted contact record is quite simple. No need to install a recovery app on your smartphone. Simply go through your usual web browser, preferably on a computer, and connect to the contacts management page of your Google account at contacts.google.com. Once logged in with your account, click on the cogwheel nestled at the top right of the page and, from the options displayed, choose Discard changes.
You then have several time options. If you have just deleted the contact, choose the 10 minutes ago option. Otherwise, check the box for the period that suits you: An hour ago, Yesterday, A week ago Or Personalize in order to define exactly the number of days, hours and minutes corresponding to your situation. Validate with a click on Confirm. After a few seconds, the previously deleted contact cards are restored to the list. Practical ! The next time your mobile synchronizes with your Google account, it will also reappear in your address book. You are saved!
