What will be the mobilization during the strike of February 7, this Tuesday? Several sectors are already mobilized and other disturbances are expected in addition to the nearly 250 demonstrations organized throughout France by the unions.
The strike of February 7, the third day of mobilization against the pension reform since the beginning of the year, is underway. The unions hope to see many French people mobilize either by striking out at work or by demonstrating in the processions. The objective is to do as well, or even better, than during the previous strike days, but the bar is high.
The strike of January 7, however, seems to be followed in transport, power stations and refineries. Many disruptions have been announced to the SNCF and the RATP which invite travelers to stay at home or at least to limit travel as much as possible. In nuclear power plants and refineries, the strikers are also numerous “75 to 100%” according to the CGT while the management announces “more than 50%” of workers on strike. Consequences ? In power stations, energy production is down and in refineries, fuel deliveries are at a standstill. Other disruptions are expected during the day, particularly in schools, public services and others.
