Folklistan’s strategy not a piece of cake according to former political leaders

The launch of the defected KD leader Sara Skyttedal and the former social democrat Jan Emanuel’s Folklistan party takes place in stages.

So far, only one of the party’s ten priority points is visible in a blurred list on the website, and on Tuesday more names were presented to the list.

EU elections 2024

  • Several convicted criminals among Folklistan’s candidates

  • Borlänge students on the EU elections: “More important than you think”

  • Schenström: Careless mistakes probably planned

According to Ulrica Schenström, former state secretary to Fredrik Reinfeldt and now CEO of the think tank Fores, it is a smart strategy:

    – This is not a work of art.

The many spelling errors that were discovered on the party’s website in connection with the launch are probably not due to carelessness either, Schenström believes.

    – I think they have gained a lot of attention for this, they have received a lot of traffic to the website. The little cynic in me wants to believe that this was planned.

    Bo Krogvig: Recently thought of

Bo Krogvig, former campaign manager for the Social Democrats, believes that Folklistan was recently conceived and that the party can benefit from being launched so close to the EU elections.

    – Had this been done and presented much earlier, there is a risk that both the media and voters would have discovered that the bag is empty. Now there is a possibility that they will be able to campaign on the surface instead of on content, he says.

The helicopter – a snack ice cream

After the launch on Monday, Skyttedal and Emanuel left in a helicopter. “Brilliant”, says Ulrica Schenström:

    – I think that people who would consider voting for him think that his boats and helicopters are cool. And that he is actually an ordinary guy.

Bo Krogvig agrees, the helicopter is a joke:

    – But the question is whether it illustrates the people and folkliness?
