People flock to Svartbäck, off Borgå, Finland, to see the tanker Eagle S, which was seized by authorities on suspicion of cable sabotage.

Eagle S has become something of a sight, reports Hufvudstadsbladet. Many see it as a historic event and travel a long way to see the ship.

– It is such a special ship that we wanted to see it, says Risto Sihvola to the newspaper.

At the same time, the police continue their investigation. The vessel, which is flagged in the Cook Islands and is believed to belong to the Russian shadow fleet, is suspected of being behind the breach on the Estlink 2 electricity cable on Christmas Day.

On Monday, the interrogation continued with the ship’s crew, and equipment was seized, writes the Central Criminal Police in an update. Two photos taken by the border guard show damage to the tanker’s hull.

“Near the bow there are several fresh paint cracks and impact marks, which are suspected to be caused by the anchor chain,” the police write on their website.

A tow track ten miles long has been found on the seabed, where the Eagle S is suspected of having dragged an anchor.
