The fact that FNV staff strike against their employer is an exceptional situation, but according to the employees of the union it is necessary. The demands of FNV Personeel, the name under which the employees have united, are mainly related to wages and purchasing power. According to them, they have not risen enough with the current inflation. They therefore demand retention of purchasing power and a wage increase through a so-called ‘automatic price compensation’ (APC).
