Cargo flights have already taken off with medical supplies, drones, helmets and other equipment, said Jeremy Redfern, a spokesman for DeSantis.
The state has partnered with private groups to supply Israel with arms and ammunition, as requested by Israel’s consul in Miami. Redfern does not want to say what kind of weapon it is.
Since the terrorist-labeled Hamas bloody attack on Israel on October 7, Florida has flown home around 700 American citizens from Israel.
DeSantis, who hopes to be the Republican presidential nominee next year, has criticized President Joe Biden for not supporting Israel enough.
It is unclear whether Florida’s shipment has been coordinated with the government in Washington DC, which under US law must approve arms exports.
