In search of a fourth Olympic medal in the 50m freestyle, Florent Manaudou also appeared on screens away from the swimming pools.
After London in 2012, Rio in 2016 and Tokyo in 2021, Florent Manaudou will participate in his fourth Olympic Games in Paris. A specialist in the 50m freestyle, the sprint event par excellence, he won the title in 2012, as well as two silver medals in 2016 and 2021. If he wins a medal this summer in Paris, he would become the first swimmer to win four medals in this discipline.
Florent Manaudou is not the only swimmer in the family. His older sister Laure Manaudou has won three Olympic medals, including a title at the Athens Games in 2004, as well as three world champion titles.
While we’ve seen a lot of Florent Manaudou in the pools to prepare for the Olympic Games, the 33-year-old swimmer has also appeared on television screens in shows of a completely different kind. Thus, in 2022, viewers were surprised to see him in an episode of the reality TV series on the M6 channel Married at first sight.
Indeed, one of his childhood friends and training companion of Florent Manaudou participates in the show. When the latter organizes his wedding in the show, Florent Manaudou appears, and participates in the wedding. But he is not the only swimmer present. Frédérick Bousquet, friend of Florent Manaudou and the candidate of the reality TV show, appears even before the triple Olympic medalist of the 50m, when the candidate announces to his friends his decision.
This is not the first time that Florent Manaudou has participated in television shows. We had already seen him in an episode of the series Munch as well as in another of the series Research section in 2017 and 2018. He was also a consultant for France Télévision for the 2017 World Championships and the 2018 European Championships.
He also participated in a reality TV show as a candidate, broadcast on the platform Prime Video. It is Celebrity Hunteda show in which a celebrity duo must escape from “hunters” who are supposed to find them. He then formed a duo with his sister Laure.
