Floorball star Wilma from Luleå back where it all began: “Incredible to be here again”

Wilma Johansson, 23, left Luleå for her floorball venture when she was about to start high school.

Now eight years later, she is back in the city to play international matches against Finland. During Friday, she treated the audience to the show she promised. With three goals and two assists, she became player of the match when Sweden won 10-3 in front of 1,200 spectators.

Now she hopes that interest in floorball will grow in Norrbotten again.

– It’s fun to show off the national team to my old home crowd and I hope that interest can grow in the sport, she says.

World star

Wilma Johansson plays every day in Västerås Rönnby and has done so in recent years. But her big breakthrough came last year when she won the entire points league in the WC when Sweden took another WC gold.

On Saturday afternoon, the two teams face each other again. The match starts at 15:30.
