Floorball: Floorball star Anna Wijk makes another comeback

Storvreta strengthens in the pursuit of promotion to SSL. The Allsvenskan club has signed six-time world champion Anna Wijk, 33, who is back inside the floorball arena after she quit a couple of times.

– Questions have come up and I realized that floorball is still a lot of fun. My body holds up and I feel in good physical shape. Now I got a solution to the life puzzle with a club that makes a bet, and it was a little too good to turn down, says Anna Wijk to SVT Sport.

This will be Wijk’s second stay in Storvreta. After ten years in Kais Mora, where she won SM gold in 2015, she joined the Uppsala team in 2020. But then the league game was interrupted due to the corona pandemic.

“Going to be a coach”

Storvreta now leads the allsvenskan north, three points ahead of Nacka. And this weekend, Wijk will play its first match – at home against Sundsvall.

– The goal is to move up to the top league. Then there is a long-term plan that feels very exciting. I will become a coach after this season. There are many good managers to learn from, I will work with them but still focus on the game.
