Floods in Central Europe decreasing flood peak in Poland today

In small towns, rescue operations are only in the beginning stages.

The floods that hit Eastern Central Europe this week are mostly receding, although river levels are still very high.

Regarding the flood, the most difficult situation will be in the southwestern part of Poland. In the big city of Wroclaw, rescue workers protect buildings with sandbags. The Olawa River, which flows through the city, is forecast to peak today.

In the south-western part of Poland, there are many small villages where the rescue work has barely started.

The floods spread over a wide area this week. In Austria, the Czech Republic and Romania, the worst of the flooding is starting to pass, but many people have lost all their possessions.
