Floods claim more than 220 lives in Myanmar News

In Myanmar, at least 226 people have died in the floods caused by typhoon Yagi and at least 77 are missing, state television reports.

In addition, almost 260,000 hectares of agricultural fields have been destroyed in floods.

According to the UN, the floods affect more than 630,000 people across Myanmar.

A typhoon swept over North Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and Myanmar just over a week ago. Huge amounts of rain have triggered landslides and floods that have killed a total of more than 500 people.
