The emergency services received several alarms during the night and between 30-40 basements and, for example, road 162 were affected by flooding, which was worst in Lysekil, Brastad and Munkedal, according to the emergency services.
– There was a lot of water on the roads and meadows at Brastad, in some places it was 40 centimeters according to ringers. We have been in basements where there has been over a meter of water, says Tero Paakki, officer on duty at the rescue service.
Expected to continue north
It was due to a low pressure with fronts moving in from the southwest that large amounts of rain were expected in a short time and thunder in parts of the country. From 23 to 04 in Bohuslän and Dalsland and from 00 to 06 in western Värmland.
The area of heavy rain is expected to continue up over the central Norrland coast later, but no warning has been issued there.
