The KNMI warned with code yellow for “strong thunderstorms” with locally heavy rain. Streets in Lopik and Eemnes, among others, were completely flooded at the beginning of the evening. According to a spokesperson for the Utrecht Safety Region, “it wasn’t too bad”, but the fire brigade was called out at least ten times. The fire brigade took action in Eemnes, Bilthoven, Oud-Zuilen and Harmelen, among others.
