(Finance) – The President of the Council, Georgia Melonschaired a video link meeting today with theEmilia-Romagna on theemergency caused by the bad weather that hit the region. The meeting was attended by the Minister for Civil Protection and Sea Policies In the Musumecithe Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council Alfredo Mantuathe acting Vice President of the Emilia Romagna Region Irene Priolothe Head of the Civil Protection Department Fabio Sicilian and the Government Commissioner for the reconstruction of the areas hit by the flood in Emilia Romagna, Tuscany and Marche Francis Paul Son.
President Meloni reiterated the solidarity of the Government to the population affected by the violent natural disasters of the past few days and has acquired the most recent information on the situation of the displaced and on the progress of the relief efforts. Furthermore, the President has assured that, as soon as the request for declaration of a state of emergency on the part of the Emilia Romagna Region, a Council of Ministers will be convened which will allocate 20 million euros to meet initial needs and restore essential services, and that further funding will be made available following the assessments following the emergency.
