Fleeed from wartime Ukraine – celebrates Christmas in Sweden

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Many Ukrainians are today celebrating their first Christmas away from their families, after war broke out in their homeland in February.

A family celebrating Christmas Eve in Sweden for the first time is Filip, his mother and grandmother. Together they fled their home country ten months ago, and moved in with a Swedish family who opened their home. Now they are celebrating their first classic Swedish Christmas, with Donald Duck and Christmas must.

Filip has mixed feelings about the day.

– I feel sad to do it (celebrate Christmas in Sweden), but also good that we came to Sweden. And we have new friends, says Filip when TV4 Nyheterna visits.
