Our pharmacist specializing in aromatherapy recommends using this little-known carminative oil to no longer be bloated.
Why has your belly increased in size? A fat and bloated belly can be the consequence of several factors, starting with‘age. Basically, the belly is not the same at 20 as it is at 60. The older we get, the more muscle and tissue relaxation occurs. It is a physiological process: the belly will change shape and round downwards. Bloating which tends to increase with age. are also responsible for the “big belly”. They are essentially due to dysbiosis (imbalance of the intestinal microbiota), favored by poor food hygiene and the fact of swallowing air while eating. A diet rich in sugars, fats and low in fiber is also a breeding ground for fat storage in the abdominal area. “Just eliminating dessert contributes to a flat stomach because dessert slows down digestion, causes fermentation and bloating” comments Dr Aude Maillard, pharmacist specializing in scientific and medical aromatherapy. Finally, the less we move, the more fat accumulates in the stomach. Hence the need to walk every day, avoid the elevator…
“Very pleasant in terms of smell and taste”
The good news is that it is possible to reduce bloating with two essential oils recommended by our expert. One which will act internally, the other externally. Of course, these must be used in addition to a balanced diet and regular physical activity. The first to use internally is cardamom essential oil. It is the most effective in combating bloating. “Very pleasant in terms of smell and taste, it is a digestive tonic and a carminative, that is to say it will promote the elimination of gas and bloating. With antispasmodic properties, it is very effective in reducing unpleasant sensations and contributing to digestive comfort. Cardamom essential oil also relaxes the nerves and muscles. It also has sanitizing properties which will help improve the state of the microbiota and therefore promote digestive comfort. Finally, it allows calm cravings, thus promoting weight loss. develops Dr Aude Maillard. To use it, dilute 2 drops in a small spoon of vegetable oil (olive or rapeseed) to swallow 1 to 3 times a day after meals depending on how you feel. Either as a treatment over a fortnight, or occasionally during a meal that is too rich or if you have eaten a food that you do not tolerate well.
Externally, black pepper essential oil is used. It is also carminative and digestive tonic. Its added value compared to that of cardamom? “Light sound hot water bottle effect at the time of application which will contribute to digestive well-being”, argues the specialist. To use it, mix 4 drops in the palm of the hand with a little apricot kernel vegetable oil (as it can be irritating) and massage the stomach until absorbed in a clockwise direction. ‘a watch to promote transit. It is an oil that penetrates well. Do not forget that essential oils are not harmless remedies, you must respect the dosages and if in doubt, seek advice from a pharmacist before use.
