The stomach is not the same at 20 as at 60, that’s a fact… but it is not inevitable. The first factor responsible for a fat and bloated belly is age. The older we get, the more muscle and tissue relaxation occurs. It is a physiological process: the belly changes shape and rounds downwards. Without forgetting bloating which tends to increase with age due to an imbalance in the intestinal microbiota (dysbiosis) favored by poor food hygiene and the fact of swallowing air while eating. A diet rich in sugars, fats and low in fiber is also a breeding ground for fat storage in the abdominal area.

The good news is that it is possible to reduce bloating with two essential oils recommended by our expert. Of course, these must be used in addition to a balanced diet and regular physical activity (there is nothing miracle). The first to use internally is cardamom essential oil. It is the most effective in combating bloating. “Very pleasant in terms of smell and taste, it is a digestive tonic and a carminative, that is to say it will promote the elimination of gas and bloating. With antispasmodic properties, it is very effective for reduce unpleasant sensations and contribute to digestive comfort. Cardamom essential oil also relaxes the nerves and muscles. It also has sanitizing properties which will help to improve the state of the microbiota. To use it, dilute 2 drops in a small spoon of vegetable oil (olive or rapeseed) to swallow 1 to 3 times a day after meals depending on how you feel. Either as a treatment over 15 days, or occasionally during a meal that is too rich.
Externally, black pepper essential oil is used. It is also carminative and digestive tonic but above all it has a “light hot water bottle effect which will contribute to digestive well-being”. To use it, mix 4 drops in the palm of the hand with a little apricot kernel vegetable oil and massage the stomach until absorbed, clockwise to promote transit.
