The lawsuit filed by author E. Jean Carroll against former US President Donald Trump for allegedly raping him in a store’s dressing room nearly 30 years ago has begun. “I’m here because Donald Trump raped me, and when I wrote about it he lied and said it didn’t happen. He shattered my reputation and I’m here to get my life back,” Carroll told the jury in court.
Carroll said she met Trump years before the alleged sexual assault and found him “very friendly” and “cool”. Carroll said that Trump sexually assaulted her after taking her to the locker room of a store in Bergdorf Goodman mall, closing the door and pushing her against the wall. Carroll, who burst into tears during his speech, announced that he pushed Trump back.
Carroll stated that he blamed himself after the incident and remained silent because he feared that he would lose his job and that Trump would retaliate against him.
Carroll, 79, who filed a lawsuit under New York’s Adult Surviving Act, is seeking compensation from Trump.
‘WITCH HUNT’
While Trump did not attend the hearings of the case, which is expected to last 1-2 weeks, he shared about the case on Truth Social. Trump described Carroll’s lawyer as a “political agent” and the rape claim as a “made up hoax” and said, “This is a bogus and false story. It’s a witch hunt.” Trump is not expected to go to jail regardless of the outcome of the case.
He is expected to hear Jessica Leeds and Natasha Stoynoff, who allege that they were sexually harassed by Trump, in the case in question. Leeds claimed that Trump, who was sitting in the next seat while traveling on a plane in 1979, sexually harassed him. Stoynoff, on the other hand, claimed that he went to Trump’s mansion in Florida to be interviewed in 2005 and that Trump sexually harassed him there.
TRUMP ATTENDED A JUDGE ON APRIL 4
Trump, who appeared in court on April 4 as part of the lawsuit filed against him on the charge that he paid an adult film actor Stormy Daniels “$130,000” during the 2016 Presidential election, denied all 34 charges against him. In the indictment, Trump was accused of forgery of documents 34 times, allegations that Trump interfered in the 2016 elections and concealed his crimes, tried to prevent negative information against him during his presidential candidacy, and gave 2 women $280,000 to keep quiet. All the charges against Trump appeared to be related to the records kept by the Trump Organization. It was announced that the next hearing in the case will be held on December 4 in New York. (UAV)
