The US has described the Russia-China alliance as “the biggest threat”. Congressman McCaul described the situation as “a great challenge for the free world”.
“WE HAVE NEVER SEEN A THREAT OF THIS GREAT SCALE…”
During his visit to Sweden with the US Congress delegation, McCaul met with Foreign Minister Tobias Billström and evaluated the alliance between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Expressing his concern about the alliance between Xi and Putin, McCaul said, “We have not seen such a large-scale threat to Europe and the Pacific since the Second World War.” He described the alliance in question as “a great challenge for the free world in the great power competition they are in”.
SWEDEN’S NATO MEMBERSHIP
Expressing that he expects Sweden to join NATO by October, McCaul said that with Finland and Sweden taking part in NATO, the Alliance will become a “stronger and more cohesive” structure.
The US Congress delegation will meet with government officials and members of parliament in their next stop, the Netherlands. (AA)
