Amazon 2025 flash sales: Watch out for phishing scams!
Be very vigilant during flash sales: crooks take advantage of this period of promotions to scam internet users, by posing as Amazon customer service. Often, this is an email aimed at “informing” you that “one of the orders has been canceled” or that you have made a purchase without knowing it. The email is accompanied by an alleged invoice as an attachment. In reality, it is a file poisoned by malware capable of sucking your personal and banking data. You can also receive emails that require “update Amazon billing data”. The message is accompanied by a link to a rigged page resembles that of the Amazon site, the aim being to recover your personal and banking data … Classic, but effective phishing techniques, which always make victims (see our practical phishing file).
The rule is simple: never click on an email link if you are not absolutely sure of the sender, especially if it is a question of purchase or money! In general, it is better to connect to your Amazon customer account on the site or via the mobile application to check your orders. If in doubt, you can always contact customer service to have confirmation.
