Brant County will hold its ceremony at 10 am Nov. 29 at the rear of the county council chambers at 66 Grand River St. N. Paris.
Both ceremonies will be live streamed at www.facebook.com/NovaVitaBrant.
Woman Abuse Prevention Month is held in November and both municipalities have passed resolutions recognizing Nov. 25 as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
The campaign to end gender-based violence has adopted the purple scarf as its symbol. Those participating in the flag raising ceremonies or who want to demonstrate their support are encouraged to purchase a purple scarf and “wrap themselves in courage.”
To purchase a purple scarf in support of the campaign and prior to the flag-raising ceremonies contact Jessica Powless, special events and public education coordinator at Nova Vita at [email protected]. To learn more about the “Wrapped in Courage” campaign visit https://novavita.org/shop/.
