Province of Utrecht – The Dutch Data Protection Authority has asked five Utrecht municipalities for an explanation of why they used an algorithm to detect fraud with social security benefits. These are Nieuwegein, Houten, IJsselstein, Lopik and Veenendaal. The watchdog speaks of “a worrying picture”.
