Eight people are now under arrest – and the giant seizure is guarded by heavily armed police.
The case began with the police helping with an authority control of a business premises in an industrial area in Norrköping.
– We assisted another authority, I can’t say which one, who was supposed to check this premises during yesterday. We accompanied the authority so that the check would be carried out safely and securely, says Jonas Qvarfordt, deputy local police area manager in Norrköping.
Then the effort took a completely different turn.

– In connection with the check, we found objects that we suspect contain narcotics. From what I understand it was by chance, says Jonas Qvarfordt.
According to information given to TV4 Nyheterna, the police’s initial estimate is that it is about five tons of suspected narcotics. The suspicion is that it is about cannabis oil, but sources with insight state that the seizure is analyzed further before the exact preparation and amount can be determined.
The police do not want to comment on the information, but state that it is about “a larger amount”.
The find surrounded by the task force
In connection with the giant find, the police chose to call in the task force, dog patrols and a helicopter. According to information, the reinforcement is about the police investigating a threat to the location due to the extensive value of the narcotics.
– We chose to use police officers equipped with, among other things, reinforcement weapons to secure the working environment for our employees. The place is cordoned off in order to calmly and systematically examine the objects and secure evidence, says Jonas Qvarfordt.
According to the police, eight people were arrested on the spot on suspicion of involvement in drug handling. All are now under arrest following a decision by the prosecutor. The police do not want to comment on whether there are connections to the gang environment or networks.
