The alarm came in to the police at 2:10 p.m. that an accident had occurred on county road 164 outside Dals-Ed. Emergency services, ambulance and police were called to the scene.
– There were five people in the vehicle and they were taken to hospital, two in an ambulance helicopter and three in an ordinary ambulance, says Fredrik Svedmyr, press spokesperson at the police.
One of the injured is a 15-year-old woman who was taken to Sahlgrenska University Hospital. At 7:30 p.m., the woman’s condition is assessed as serious, but stable.
The other four victims were taken to Norra Älvsborg County Hospital. The state of damage is serious but stable even for them, the police write on their website.
The car has been impounded. The incident is being investigated as gross negligence in traffic and illegal driving, according to TT.
