Five Swedes arrested in Tunisia – linked to gang conflict

The men were arrested in a car on their way to the Tunisian coastal city of Hammamet, according to information SVT. Shortly after the arrest, the police conducted a house search where cannabis and narcotic tablets were found.

According to SVT, the crackdown was prompted by the Tunisian police receiving information that several of the men are involved in an international drug network.

According to local media, weapons were seized, while images published by the Tunisian police show five Swedish passports together with mobile phones and drugs.

In a written comment to SVT, the Foreign Ministry writes that they have no information about the arrest.
