In total, fifteen people were tried for the lynching of an Islamist or bassidji militiaman a few weeks ago. Five people were sentenced to death and the others to heavy prison terms.

Video of the lynching circulated widely on social media and state media and was used in the trial. We see about thirty people attacking a young person with a knife and stones, also kicking him.

The new death sentences were announced as four protesters or troublemakers, according to authorities, were hanged sunday morning.

Likewise, the head of the judiciary has announced the upcoming execution of those convicted of murder during the protests of the past few weeks.

A Wednesday that promises to be crucial

This Tuesday, there were even fewer shops closed in the capital than on Monday. Last night, small groups of young people demonstrated in several neighborhoods of Tehran, blocking certain avenues and highways in the capital.

Wednesday 7, which corresponds to Student Day, is undoubtedly crucial. Many calls have been made for greater mobilization. But the power is not giving up since President Raisi is to deliver a speech at the University of Tehran.

Finally, the spokesperson for Justice announced that 1,200 protesters arrested in recent weeks have been released.
