The alarm about the crash came around 7pm on Monday evening. The accident happened at an airport in the town of Chrcynno, five kilometers north of Warsaw.
On the plane were parachutists from a local parachute club, reports Gazeta Wyborcza. Five people, including the pilot, died in the crash.
According to Poland’s Health Minister Adam Niedzielski, a major rescue operation is underway at the site.
“Warsaw’s hospital is ready or already accepting patients. We have at least seven injured and five dead,” he writes on Twitter.
