Five charged after joint probe leads to 194K drug bust

Five Southwestern Ontario residents face drug and weapons charges after a months-long regional investigation this week, police say.

OPP street crime unit officers from across the region, organized crime bureau and tactics and rescue unit members, and London and Woodstock police officers took part, police said.

Officers with warrants searched five properties — in Wallaceburg, London, Middlesex County, Tillsonburg and Woodstock — and three vehicles Tuesday about 9:15 am, the OPP said in a release late Thursday afternoon.

Investigators seized an estimated $194,000 in suspected fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, oxycodone, and psilocybin, plus a shotgun, ammunition, knives, stun gun, laptops, cellphones, drug trafficking paraphernalia and cash, police said.

Five people are charged:

  • A Tillsonburg man, 44, faces one count of possessing drugs for trafficking.
  • A Woodstock woman, 38, and man, 41, each face two counts of possessing drugs for trafficking.
  • A London man, 39, faces three counts of possessing drugs for trafficking.
  • A Londoner, 39, faces three counts of possessing drugs for trafficking, possessing a prohibited device or ammunition, possessing a firearm or ammunition while prohibited and failing to comply with a release order.
