Utrecht – The fish doorbell at the Utrechtse Weerdsluis has again been pressed en masse this year. Interested parties called more than 105,000 times to help the waiting fish through the lock. The website was even visited 8.2 million times, mainly by people from Germany and the United States. The number of unique visitors was over 1 million. Today the camera has been turned off, because the fish migration season is over. The bell had been open since March 6. Next year, the cameras will turn on again on March 1.
